Temür Köran

Temür Köran, who re-establishes reality with an original pictorial style in his multi-layered works, produces open works that trigger the imagination of the viewer. Rather than presenting an emotion, a concept, a living thing, or an object that affects him with its strict reality, the artist prefers to use open-ended images that gain new meanings in the viewer's mind in his works. Köran, who cares about the plastic problems in painting, makes use of the violence of bold colors in his works, where he uses form and color spacing together. The artist, who likes to explore and experiment in his artistic production, uses the primitive figure motifs -leitmotiv- he made from ready-made objects as his models when he had just graduated from the academy. In the paintings that he produced during this period, he creates hierarchical compositions inspired by Eastern art, in which he analyzes the surface with color. Then, when he included the human figure back into his painting again, as a synthesis of all his artistic experiences, “the Diptychs" series appeared. As a result of an experimental process in which he placed two canvases side by side and applied the same brush strokes simultaneously, the resulting “the Diptychs" series holds an important place in the artist's collection. Before starting a canvas painting, Köran takes visual notes with drawings of the elements that he will place in the composition. In addition to his canvas paintings, he also adopts a multi-layered and expressionist pictorial style in his figure drawings, in which he uses different materials together.
