Alone Together (One Last Trip Around the Garden), the second monograph by Devin Oktar Yalkın published by ZONE , brings together the artist’s introspective photographic series that focuses on the loss of a home and the melancholy that this loss leaves behind.


In this series—part of which was previously shown to viewers in the artist’s exhibition Obsidian—Yalkın uses evocative black-and-white images to depict the transformation of once lively spaces into memories within his family’s home in Brigantine, New Jersey. Shaped around the concepts of transience, memory, and renewal, these images evoke the recollections embedded within a place.
